education weeks for website

As part of our commitment to Primary School S.T.E.A.M education, Imaginosity is proud to be part of the annual national celebrations of Maths, Science and Engineering with Maths Week, Science Week and Engineers Week.  As part of these celebrations the museum  hosts a diverse and interesting programme of daily events throughout these weeks where school groups can explore, discover and experiment in a way that they would be unable to do in school.  Education Week workshops are suitable for children from Junior Infants to Second Class. Costs are €6 per child, for a 2 hour visit to Imaginosity which is split between fun on the museum floor and our accredited DPSM workshop.

Schools & Groups, come and join us this Engineers Week to find out just what Engineering is, and what an Engineer does!  Through a mixture of facilitator led demonstrations and hands-on exploration, visiting Junior Engineers will learn the fundamental concepts behind geometry and structural engineering with our 'Geometric Giant' workshop.  Workshops are designed to be educational, and in line with the the current Primary curriculum.  In addition to expanding their Engineering knowledge, participants in the workshops will enhance their spatial reasoning skills, numerical reasoning, planning, sorting, team work, model making skills as well as helping their critical thinking and problem solving.  School workshops are suitable for classes from Junior Infants - 2nd Class and run for 2 hours (40 minute Engineers Week workshop and 1 hour 20 minutes museum exploration.
